Frequently Asked Questions
Handmade Ceramics
Why do handmade ceramics cost so much?
Each piece is made by hand, from shaping and carving the porcelain to glazing and firing, and can take many hours of careful work. Unlike mass-produced ceramics, handmade pieces involve specialized skills, small-batch production, and the possibility of pieces being lost or damaged during the making and firing process. The price reflects not only the materials, but also the time, craftsmanship, experimentation, and care that goes into creating each piece.
Are the ceramics food safe?
Each handmade ceramics item will have safety information and care instructions.
Do you accept custom orders?
Yes! Custom orders are very much welcome. However, if the custom order defers too much in my ceramics style, I have the option to refuse the custom order. Please contact hi@borealistigerstudio.art to discuss your ideas!
What if the item is not to my expectation?
I am sorry that the item does not meet your expectation. Due to the handmade nature of ceramics, it will be normal for there to be some variation in the products. I try to depict the items as truly as possible in my shop.
Help! My item broke during shipping!
Unfortunately, I do not have control how carriers treat packages. The utmost care has been taken to package your ceramics, but on the off chance it is broken, please reach out hi@borealistigerstudio.art for more information.

Unfortunately, there is no real way to find out unless you try them out! Having said that, the pottery tools I sell are all tools that I personally have bought, tried, and use on a regular basis.
